On these pages are the stories of those who have been sexually abused as a child or adult.  By sharing your story with the readers you will help us  educate the world about sexual abuse.   Sexual abuse is a worldwide problem not just an individual one.  Your story will change things.  One out of three girls  (Rescue.org) and one out of six boys (1in6.org) will experience sexual abuse in there life time.  The sheer numbers can be disheartening but that only means there are so many things that can be done to reduce these numbers.  Not only do you have the power to educate others about sexual abuse you can use this site as a tool to; feel empowered; address your perpetrator; say you’re sorry for being a perpetrator; or use it as a part of your healing process.  It will take courage to read the stories of others because it’s your story too.   You can do it.

We welcome any suggestions you may have about this site.  We are expecting many personal stories and we honor your courage in being part of this.  You don’t have to provide your full name with your story but we encourage you to identify your writing in some way so that others who read your story can communicate with you via the site.  If you do not want anyone to comment on your story simply write: no comments.  The story tab lists suggestions to get you started.  If you feel that none of these topics fit your story feel free to write your story under “other” .

My husband and I have started this website as a means to help others like ourselves who are survivors of sexual abuse.  So many of my small circle of friends and family have been irreparably damaged by their experiences.  Childhood sexual abuse survives and is perpetuated by the secrecy of it all.  If we don’t bury our heads in the sand and instead educate the public about abuse it will decrease if not eradicate sexual abuse.  Please let us know your thoughts about accomplishing this by emailing us at: eradicatesexualabuse@gmail.com

Not In Vain
by Emily Dickinson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one live the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
